De Brooklyn \u00e0 la cage<\/h3>\n

Fabio Cherant est n\u00e9 le 25 novembre 1994 \u00e0 Brooklyn, New York. \u00c9lev\u00e9 en famille d’accueil, il grandit dans plusieurs villes avant de poser ses valises \u00e0 Wrentham, dans le Massachusetts, pour le lyc\u00e9e. Il commence le MMA \u00e0 19 ans \u2014 tardivement pour un futur combattant professionnel \u2014 et fait ses d\u00e9buts en cage en f\u00e9vrier 2018 sous la banni\u00e8re CES MMA. Premi\u00e8re sortie, premier finish : il met James Dysard \u00e0 la retraite en 13 secondes par soumission. Le ton est donn\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Un grappler construit pour finir les combats<\/h3>\n

Cherant entra\u00eene son grappling chez Sanford MMA et compile rapidement un bilan impressionnant : 7 victoires dont 5 par soumission (deux RNC, deux guillotines, un anaconda). Il ne fait pas dans la dentelle. En juillet 2019, il affronte Aleksa Camur sur le Contender Series de Dana White \u2014 et prend un KO au deuxi\u00e8me round. Premier revers, mais pas de quoi freiner son \u00e9lan. Il rebondit, encha\u00eene les victoires, et d\u00e9croche le titre LFA poids lourds-l\u00e9gers en battant Myron Dennis par d\u00e9cision unanime le 12 f\u00e9vrier 2021. C’est son laissez-passer pour l’UFC.<\/p>\n

Trois combats en Octogone, trois d\u00e9faites<\/h3>\n

Son passage \u00e0 l’UFC tient en un chiffre : 0-3. D\u00e8s son premier combat, le 27 mars 2021 \u00e0 l’UFC 260, il se retrouve pris au pi\u00e8ge d’un von Flue choke par Alonzo Menifield \u2014 soumission en 1 minute 11 au premier round. Cinq mois plus tard, le 21 ao\u00fbt 2021, William Knight le stoppe par KO en 3 minutes 58. Et en f\u00e9vrier 2022 \u00e0 l’UFC 271, Carlos Ulberg lui impose la d\u00e9cision unanime sur trois rounds. L’UFC le lib\u00e8re en mars 2022. Bilan : trois combats, trois sorties pr\u00e9matur\u00e9es, mais jamais le m\u00eame sc\u00e9nario.<\/p>\n

Statut actuel<\/h3>\n

Apr\u00e8s son passage \u00e0 l’UFC, Cherant continue de se battre. En juin 2024, il monte d’une cat\u00e9gorie et fait ses d\u00e9buts en poids lourds chez Unified MMA \u2014 une tentative de renouveau qui se solde par une d\u00e9faite par soumission face \u00e0 Christian Larsen (Unified MMA 58, 14 juin 2024). Son bilan professionnel est de 7 victoires pour 5 d\u00e9faites. \u00c0 31 ans, son histoire avec le MMA n’est probablement pas termin\u00e9e.<\/p>\n
