Founded in 1927 by the management of the SGEN (Société du Gaz et l’Electricité de Nice) under the title of the Union Sportive du Gaz et de l’Electricité de Nice (USGEN). Sporting activities were limited to the practice of boules and fishing. Some attempts were made to create other activities, but this could not be done as quickly, if only because of the lack of management and a timid encouragement to practice sports by the company’s staff.
